  • Joan Ray, JASNA President and Professor of English at the University of Colorado, talked about "The Amiable Prejudices of a Young [Writer's] Mind: The Problems with Sense and Sensibility."

  • Beth Tobin, Professor of English at Arizona State University, looked at the noisy people in Austen’s novels in her speech "Eternal Talkers and Boisterous Games: Noise in Austen's Novels."

  • Our own Janne Irvine -- Doctor of Musical Arts, Tucson pianist and teacher -- performed her original program "Janne on Jane," featuring music from Austen’s era interwoven with conversation about the novels.
