Speakers were:
Joan Ray, JASNA President and Professor of English at the University of Colorado, talked about "The Amiable Prejudices of a Young [Writer's] Mind: The Problems with Sense and Sensibility."
Beth Tobin, Professor of English at Arizona State University, looked at the noisy people in Austen’s novels in her speech "Eternal Talkers and Boisterous Games: Noise in Austen's Novels."
Our own Janne Irvine -- Doctor of Musical Arts, Tucson pianist and teacher -- performed her original program "Janne on Jane," featuring music from Austen’s era interwoven with conversation about the novels.
